Lamborghini Huracan LP 610-4 Review by EVO

The Lamborghini Huracan is the highly anticipated replacement of the Gallardo. The outgoing car is the most successful Lamborghini model to date with exactly 14,022 vehicles rolling off the production line at Sant’Agata Bolognese, Italy. The Gallardo had multiple reiterations during its 10 years lifespan, ranging from hardcore track machines to the soft-top Spyder model. With that the expectations towards the Huracan, which was officially revealed at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, are set rather high. Can it raise the game and beat its older brother? Find out in the video after the jump, where Jethro Bovingdon puts the Huracan through its paces.

Natural Sounds: Lamborghini Coutach LP400S [Video]

May 6, 2012 at 5:46 pm

I have the feeling that it is quite rare to find a nice quality video footage of a supercar that just blasts by the camera, no music, no added sound effects. Just pure natural engine sounds. All of that and given that the car starring in the video is 1980’s Lamborghini Countach LP400S makes one hell of a good car video. A quick look at the specs:

  • Engine: naturally aspirated 4.0-liter V12
  • Horsepower: 350 bhp (261 kW) @ 7500 rpm
  • Top Speed: 292 km/h (181 mph)
  • Acceleration 0-100 km/h: 5.9 seconds (0-62 mph)
  • Weight: 1 200 kg (2 646 lb)
  • Drivetrain: Rear wheel drive, 5 speed manual

Rental Ferrari 458 Italia became part of a global car smuggling ring [Video]

April 27, 2012 at 5:53 pm

Imagine being the owner of an exotic car rental company and you notice that your black 2010 Ferrari 458 Italia has been rented out but hasn’t moved for a few days. You would think something is wrong, wouldn’t you? Exactly this happened to Eric Blumberg, owner of Rent in Style. Using a GPS tracking system he found out that the 458 Italia, which rents at $2000 per day, was staying still for several days instead of being wildly enjoyed. After Mr. Blumberg notified the police they found out that the vehicle was loaded into a container bound for export to Hong Kong, probably about to be sold on the black market there. The Italian exotic left the port of Los Angeles as a cargo labeled “used fitness equipment”. After all, the 458 can serve as a nice machine to exercise the neck muscles.

Apparently the black 458 Italia was part of a car smuggling ring. After the police investigation took place, about 20 other luxury vehicles were returned to US shores awaiting their original owners. Sounds almost like the movie “Gone in 60 Seconds”, starring Nicolas Cage and Angelina Jolie. Watch the video report by CBS This Morning for more details after the jump.
